HKACE 10th Anniversary Celebration Cum "Customer Service Excellence Awards" Presentation Ceremony

Representatives of HKACE founding members, distinguished corporate members from various service industries gathered together on 22 January 2010 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, marking the first decade of the Association. Mrs. Rita LAU, J.P., Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development attended the ceremony to give a speech and present awards to winners of the "Customer Service Excellence Awards". Fire Services Department won Gold Award 2009 of the "Customer Service Excellence Awards" organized by HKACE, which celebrated its 10th anniversary on 22 January 2010.


 
"Customer Service Excellence Awards" is the most rigorous and comprehensive award in Hong Kong customer service industry. The "Customer Service Excellence Awards" include Grand Award, Outstanding Customer Service Program Award, Team Award, and Individual Award. The Gold Award winner of 2009 went to the Fire Services Department with Ocean Park and Cafe de Coral presented with the Silver and Bronze awards respectively.

"Service excellence is a core advantage for Hong Kong that helps to attract business and visitors from all over the world. Raising the overall level of service excellence is imperative for maintaining or even increasing the city’s competitiveness," said Quince Chong, Chairman of Hong Kong Association for Customer Service Excellence.

"It's an advantage that must be preserved and further developed – and that is at the heart of the Association’s work. The quest for customer service excellence is a lifelong journey that requires the commitment of every organisation, in every service-related industry, " she said, adding that "We cannot hope to achieve our goal without first developing a culture of service excellence in our city."

In addition, the Association reviewed the benchmarking activities in promoting professional customer service over the last year, including a series of seminar, training courses, workshops, and mentorship for SMEs, as well as visits to leading service organizations. The association also awarded Top 10 SME Customer Service Excellence Award 2009 to outstanding performers from small and medium Enterprises and outstanding projects in Young Service Stars program, the association's cooperation with Tourism Commission and Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups. "Endless Quest for Service Excellence" is the theme of this year's celebration.
